What is the difference between a hybrid and all-electric heat pump?
A hybrid heat pump works alongside a boiler (often gas). The advantage of a hybrid heat pump setup, is that you already save up to 80% of your gas bill immediately. In this installation, the heat pump takes care of heating your home (plus minus up to 80% of a normal gas bill, depending on use of domestic water).
With an all-electric (or full-electric) heat pump installation, you go completely off gas. The central heating boiler will be replaced. To use heated domestic water, a boiler tank containing hot water is used. A boiler tank is typically 300 litres to households with 800 litres of hot water.
