Survey and coordination efforts with the Virginia Department of
Historic Resources (VDHR) revealed the presence of a house (St. John
house) eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP)
within the project area. Also, a Phase II archaeological survey has
been deemed necessary due to the identification of historic and
prehistoric artifacts within the project area.
Delta is assisting the VHAA with completing the additional survey work
and coordination efforts necessary for the St. John house. Once
completed, a description of the coordination efforts and survey findings
will be incorporated into the draft EA. The draft EA will be submitted
to VDEQ for review and comment; subsequently, the public hearing will be
scheduled.
